Six severe flood warnings have been issued by the Met Office, with 210 flood warnings in place throughout England, Scotland and Wales. Three people died over the weekend and thousands more were evacuated from their homes as the number of flood warnings hit an all-time record.
South Wales Police have been dealing with “multiple” landslides and floods, with some even trapping residents. Hundreds of homes and businesses have been badly damaged with the Welsh Government is preparing to provide extra cash to councils to help them with the post-storm clean-up.
More than 20,000 properties across Wales suffered power cuts during the storm. Early data from Natural Resources Wales showed more than 160mm of rain had fallen in Maerdy, Rhondda, since midday on Friday.
Four people have now died during the storm and thousands have been evacuated from their homes across the UK.
